Heartline coordinates a variety of programs and classes throughout the year. Two of our most popular programs are Operation Backpack and Tree of Hearts which requires participation from our local community.
JULY - OPERATION BACKPACK
Each year the number of people in Woodford County needing help with school supplies increase. In 2022, we gave 180 children from 8 area school districts their grade specific and necessary school supplies so they could start the school year off right. Operation backpack is available for every child in a Woodford County School with signups beginning in July and continuing throughout the summer.
We seek school supply donations from the community. Volunteers are needed on various dates in July for sorting, filling backpacks and distribution.
November – Thanksgiving from the Heart
Everyone is invited to Thanksgiving from the Heart, meal. This is open to anyone in the community who may be alone for the holiday or those whose families are not getting together on the holiday. Come join us for turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, stuffing, bread, salads and of course pumpkin pie! The meal is free to everyone! DECEMBER -- TREE OF HEARTS
OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROJECT IS ESSENTIALLY 3-FOLD.
Volunteers are needed for each of the segments of the Tree of Hearts program. This annual Christmas outreach requires dedicated volunteers to shop, unload, sort, pack/wrap, and distribute.
1. Through the Tree of Hearts program we are able to provide Christmas gifts for area children, age 0-High School, who might otherwise go without.
In 2022 we were able to distribute over 1,900 gifts to 250 area children. All gifts are donated by the generous residents of Woodford County.

Throughout the month of December, we have several donation sites throughout Woodford County where gift donations are collected.

We are also a distributor of Christmas food boxes for the Salvation Army. This past year we provided over 130 area families with food.
Volunteers are needed for distribution of food boxes on December 13th at 2:00 PM.
